This  is an irritation of the eye, frequently caused by dust or some foreign object. There will be a great of irritation and discharge from the eye. Because it is often accompanied by some degree of pain the animal might show obvious signs   of pain.

If the condition is not serious, treatment can be quite easily be given at home by flushing the eye with the same sterile solutions used by humans, that is available from pharmacists.   If this does not appear to ease the condition the irritation may require attention from a Veterinarian.  There may be some foreign object that is causing the irritation.
