This is a condition that should not be taken lightly as your dog may be suffering from a condition called “kennel cough”, so named because it is an infectious condition that often crops up in crowded kennels.  A number of  boarding kennels insist that animals be  inoculated against kennel cough before they are taken into kennels.

If there is a harsh, unproductive cough that appears to be getting a little worse each day, this  may indicate that there is fluid in the dog’s lungs.   This is sometimes indicative of heart problems and appropriate Veterinary treatment is necessary.
