Question:  What is the usual period that a bitch is in whelp?

Answer:   The usual period from the time that she has been mated is 63 days, but this period can vary by quite a few days.  A bitch quite often whelp as early as 58 days after being mated, and sometimes the period extends a little over the 63 day period.

If the period extends more than a day or two over the 63 day period, it would be wise to seek Veterinary advice.
